MR. AND MRS, JOHN PORTS, POLO, CELEBRATING THEIR GOLDEN WEDDING ON DEC, 26Polo, III., Dec. 23.—Mr. and Mrs. John Ports, living near Polo, will celebrate their golden wedding Dec, 20. They plan to hold open house from 2 p. m, to 4 p. m. and 0 p. m. to 8 p. m. for neighbors, friends and relatives.Miss Mary Schryver and John E. Ports were married Dec. 28, 1887, at the home of Mr, and Mrs, Otho [Ports In a double wedding ceremony. His sister, Miss Helen Ports, and her brother, Henry Schryver, were the other participants In the double wedding. Mrs. Schryver passed away in 1013 and Mr, Schryver resides with his sister, Mrs, Ethel Cheese-man,Mr. and Mrs. Ports were married by the Methodist minister, John Hitchcock of MlllfidgevHlo, A reception was held the following day at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Jesse Schryver wih fifty invited guests.Mr. and Mrs. Ports lived on a farm near the Barclay school for fiveyears, then moved to Tama county, Iowa, where they farmed for nine years. In the spring of 1002 they moved back to Illinois and bought the farm where they now reside In Eagle Point township.They have one son, Ralph, who resides with them on the farm, and one grandchild.
