D. L. Stewarts CelebrateGolden Wedding DateA pleasant surprise came to Mr. and Mrs D L. Stewart on Sunday, December 19, when all their children and grandchildren arrived at their home near Cleo loaded with good things to oat dur ing the day, to celebrate the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. ami Mrs. Stewart. The happy old couple was presented with two com fortabl# chairs which the children hope will provide much comfort to them in their declining yearsThe table was beautifully d«*c orated with a lovely golden cake for a centerpiece. A lovely little colonial man and woman graved the top of this tiered cake. Salads, ham, chicken, cranberry sauce, pickles and pecan cake graced the table. Coffee and pie were served after luncheon Those present to enjoy the noon luncheon were Mr. and Mrs. Avery Setwart and three sons; Mr. and Mrs. H M Stewart and two sons; Mr. and Mrs. I. B. Stewart; Floyd Stewart. Mr and Mrs. Myles Stewart and daughter. Mrs Anna Lee Stewart and daughter, Mrs. Genette Stewart, Theron Morrow and the honored host and hostess.In the afternoon all attended services at the little country church. During the afternoon several of— Mtheir neighl)ors and friends calledto congratulate Mr. and Mrs. LStewart. A few neighl»ors and sev-1.eral of their children remained (for the evening meal with the ,happy couple, for it was a happyday for them.David lxgan Stewart and Mar- , tha Ellen Wilks were married 50 years ago at Burnett. Texas. They , spent the first few years of their , married life at Burnett, then moved to Mills county where they liv- ; ed for a while. They then moved ( to Fort McKavetl and after a year { liought their ranch on Bear Creek , near Cleo where they have lived , for 33 years with the exception of a few years they lived in Junction.Their life experience dates hack to the old ox wagon days and the times of the cattle trails. They have had a part in the develop- , ment of the country. Mr. Stewart has always taken an active interest in the affairs of his community. The wholesome influence of the lives of these two good people will he felt in Kimble county long after they have passed from the stage of action.The Eagle joins with their many friends in congratulating them on the celebration of their goldenwedding anniversary'-
