Charles Filsingers i celebrate golden | wedding anniversary ,NEWMAN GROVE — Mr. and ] Mrs. Charles Filsinger, a retired farm couple, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with open house Sunday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran church The event was planned by Mi's. Filsinger’s sister. Mrs. August Pittack. and nieces. Mrs. Lyle'rQ/r-Simmons of St Edward and Mrs. Dale Etling. The 5-tier cake featuring white wedding bells was decorated by Mrs. Etling.Mrs. Lyle Simmons registered 150 guests ami Mrs. Anna Maurer and Mrs. Ilulda Zessin of Madison were in charge of the gift table. Mrs. Clifford Klug- of Norfolk poured; Mrs. Russell Anderson ol Clearwater and Mrs. Bob Jannev of Lincoln served the cake, and others assisting were Dallas Etling, Hillard Klug. Peggy Lee Simmons and Kathleen Zessin A program included songs. “Bless This House” by Carol Schagunn and “The IvOrd’s Prayer” by Mrs. Dean Broberg. with Mrs. Fred Kramer as accompanist. Pastor Kenneth Jacobson gave a talk.Mr. and Mrs. Filsinger were married Dec. 1H. 1912 at the home ot her parents, Mr. and Mrs Henrv Zessin in the Green GardenVcommunity They lived on farms near Newman Grove until retiring to town in 1949.Thlt;‘v are members of Trinitv Lutheran church.
