Doc and Joy KosinskiBernard “Doc” Kosinski and Joy Lee Cowan met and married in Clovis at Sandia Baptist Church on Dec. 18, 1970, and spent their honeymoon in Ruidoso.The couple spent their early years of marriage with Doc serving in the Air Force at Clovis, Minot, North Dakota and ultimately in 1976, moving to Alamogordo and Holloman Air Force Base.Joy taught physical education in Clovisfor 8 years and for 28 years at ChaparralMiddle School in Alamogordo, retiring in2004. She now enjoys line dancing and playing golf.Courtesy photoDoc retired from the Air Force in 1982 and continued serving the military first as a private contractor, then as a civil servant until August 2009, retiring once again. Doc has three daughters, Tonie, Missy and Brenda, blessing him with nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who live between New Mexico and California.Doc and Joy are members of Bethel Baptist Church and enjoy volunteering within the church and other organizations. They also enjoy fishing and plan to take anAlaskan Cruise to celebrate their 40 years together.
