The mercury shivered to a record low of 18 degrees on Dec. 13. and it was the depths of the Great Depression.But 28 San Rafael High School students marched down the aisle of the school auditorium on Dec. 23. with a mixture of glee and solemnity.The senior edition of the Red and White, the school newspaper. announced beforehand that Senior class president Marv Frances Dodd would present the school with a gift during thecommencement ceremonies.Only there wasn't any gift to give.'We were too darn broke. \ngelo Turrim. one of the Christ mas seniors of ‘32, re called this week.The class of Christmas '32 still intends to do something about that gift that was never givenThe alumni will gather Saturday. exactly to years after graduation, in their first reunion They’ll have dinner and dancing and recollection at Dominic's Harbor Restaurant.I urrini said the class members will discuss what kind of a gift to give the school, where present-day students cannot remember even the days of World War II. much less the Depression.At least 16 of the 1932 graduates plan to attend the reunion.
