Wts., Deo. 18-Fiv h urs of gruelling cross examination of Reuben Petri, state’s witness In the trial of his 33-yenr-old wife, Angelina Petri, charged with administering poLson with intent to kill him, marked the session in Judge Minahan’s courtroom here vesterdav afternoon.• ' WAttorney Huch Minahan, defense counsel, in conducting tin* examination. attempted to show that Petri was a regular drinker of alleged moonshine whisky before and during his illness of almost a year in which tii.: ten doctors diagnosed his case.Nii. - of them, the witness stated,said that he was suffering withulcoholic gastritis and that the tenth diagnosed hilt; a.lmen* as due tosome form of poison. In previous testimony. Petri charged that his illness was due tlt; poison administered, by his wife in his food.Attorney Minahan then emphasized the fact that it was only after the tenth doctor's diagnosis thatPetri suspected- that his wife wasfeeding him poison.■‘Then P. was,’ 'Attorney Minahan : : “that you dreamed poison andsaw poisor, in everything your wife served to you!urt; • questioning showed thitafter his wife had given him a cupof milk on Oct. 4. 1923. In which he aliesrey to have found a seliment of poison, he instructed his 11-year-old daughter to, spy on her mother.Earlier in the day Petri while giving testimony, accused his wife with w nting to get rid of him so she could get a widow's pension.Petri will resume the stand when court convenes today.
