William H. RaynesPORT REPUBLIC - William H. Haynes, 83, of Port Republic died Tuesday evening at Camelot Hall Nursing Home in Harrisonburg,where he had been a patient since Oct. 31.Mr. Raynes had been a Rockingham County school bus driver and custodian at Port Republic Elementary School.He was born near Lynnwood April 3, 1903, and was a son of the late William H. and Francis Shifflett Raynes.He was a member and former lay reader at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church at Lynnwood.On Sept. 7, 1926, he married the former Goldie Morris, who died May 11,1981.Surviving are a son, Robert L. Raynes of Port Republic; four grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren.The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church by the Rev. Louis Breitenbach. Burial will be in Port • Republic Cemetery.The family will receive friends at Robert Raynes’ home at any time.The body is at the Kyger-Pence Funeral Home, where friends also may call.In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Grottoes Rescue Squad.
