PRATT CHOSEN CAPTAIN.H Company of Chelsea Promotes Its^ First Lieutenant.^ | |H company, 1st regiment, M V M, of Chelsea hold an election last evening at the armory, occasioned by the recent resignation of Capt John It. Smith.Forty-two of the 58 members of the company were present, and Ml] Perlie A. Pyar presided. First Lieut Walter L. Pratt was unanimously elected captain, 2d Lieut William Renfrew was promoted to first lieutenant, and orderlyS**rgt Pert E. Grant was made second Ueutenan t.Col Thomas R. Mathews was present and congratulated the company upon its successful career and expressed his hearty good wishes for its future prosperity. Capt Pratt made a speech thanking the men for the honor they had conferred upon him.The new captain has been a member of the company about 10 years. He has always taken a strong interest in military matters and has paid close attention to the affairs of his company. He is still under 30 years of age, having grown up and received his education in Chelsea. He is an expert stenographerby occupation, and is in the employ of the B M railroad company.
