JOHN THALMAN j TO OBSERVE 59TH WEDDING | ANNIVERSARY, DECEMBER 24On December 24, 1890, in the Patoka Methodist Church parsonage, Miss Cleta Farmer became the bride of John Thalman, with Rev. Morris officiating. They went to housekeeping on a farm east of town I known as the Hull farm. Living there ! one year they exchanged to the' Myers farm, and after two years j there they had the house built that! is now owned by Mrs. Delphia Jolliff. i After several years in toiv\n they!bought the farm where they re-j sided for th epast 45 years. In the last month they purchased and moved . to a farm in town, and when inter- f viewed for this story, this devoted elderly couple seemed very cozy and happy. He is 82 and she 81. Neither are what we could call in robust health, yet uncomplaining.They have always been a hard working and industrious couple. Mr. Thalman having run a threshing machine outfit for G1 years, is known near and far for his honest and upright dealings.To this union 3 sons, Ben, Charley, and Roy webe born; and four daughters, Lola, Nellie, Frances and Edna. There are 21 grand-children and 151 grea t-gra n d -eh il d r e n. jThere will be no formal celebration, only, perhaps, children and grand-children calling with gifts, expressions of their love.The accompanying picture was supplied us by their grand daughter, Mrs. Wilma Gergeni.
