Wabash College has come into possession of a valuable addition to itsmu sen ui through the kindness of Alfred Dickey, of North Dakota, formerly one of our fellow citizens. The specimen is a vast petrified stump from the Bad Lands of North Dakota, and occupied a position of honor in front of the North Dakota building at the World’s Fair.It is about ten feet long and six feet in its shortest diameter. Kvery line and knot in the grain of the wood iH reproduced in the stone and it is hollow. It arrived on a flat car Friday and is ' now at the south door of Hovev Mu-6eum but cannot be taken in until the door frames all come out. The great Chicago Museum was very anxious to sesure it and a college at Mt. Vernon, Iowa, also made a vigorous attempt to get it.
