Wm. Schapers To Celebrate 50th W edding AnniversaryMr. and Mrs. William E. Schaper of 509 S. 6th St., Marshalltown, former State Center area residents, will observe their golden wedding anniversary with an open house on Sunday, Dec. 17 at the French Playground Building on North Ninth Avenue in Marshalltown, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.The event will be hosted by their seven children, Mrs. Katherine Brewer, Kenneth Schaper, Mrs. Jack (Clara) Schatzman, Mrs. Don (Lucille) Wright, Miss Wilma Schaper and Paul Schaper, all of Marshalltown, and Mrs. Joe (Shirley) Haven of San Francisco, Calif. There are 23 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.The Schapers were married Dec. 20, 1922 in Tipton, la. She is the former Jessie Shepard.’ The couple lived in this area a number of years before moving to Marshalltown around 30years ago.
