H. Wofford Tuesday, December 10 celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary.A family dinner planned by close relatives and friends was the principal event, aitho’ Mr. and Mrs. Wofford were honored by many gifts. Mr. Wofford said “children I am proud of the beautiful gifts that you have given us, but 50 years ago I was more proud of your mother;’Mr .and Mrs. Wofford were married at White, Georgia in 1879. where they spent several years. In November 1893 with the members of the family they moved £o Hanson, 6 miles east of Salii-saw, which soon became known as the “Georgia settlement.’’ The twenty-alx years spent near Hanson they were active workers in the community, especially In the church, where Mr. Wofford served as a deacon for many years in the Baptist church. Mrs. Wofford did her active work in helping those in need. They are widely known as “Uncle Bud” and “Aunt Fanny.”Mr. and Mrs. Wofford moved to Sallisaw ten years ago. Mr. Wofford is superintendent of the county farm, one mile south of Sallisaw. Everyone that knows them wishes them many happy years to come.The Wofford children are: Mrs. Tom Watson, Gore; Mrs. John Hawkins, Sallisaw; Mrs. Fred Bradley, Sallisaw; Mrs. Leo Farmer, Sallisaw; Mrs. Lee Haney, Sallisaw; James V.
