Deatrick/were the recipients of a very agreeable surprise at their residence, fire miles pouth of Cory-don, on Sunday the 2nd inst., it being the 42nd anniversary oftheir marriage.A large number of their relatives and friends came in, laden with well filled baskets and the day was delightfully spent in feast ing, all having had a good time.Mr. and Mrs. . Deatrick were completely surprised but proved to be good entertainers as all present will testify.The festivities of the day closed with song and prayer offered by Aunt Eliza Kitterman.Mr. Deatrick has been a resident of the county since 1855. fle came from Rockingham county, Virginia, and was married Dec. 2. 1858.They have seven children living, one in this county, five in New Albany and one in Bristol,Tennessee.Among those present were: Robert Deatrick and family, Ben Lasley and family, James Kitterman and family, Wm. Brown and family, Mrs. Lula Smoots and family, Lee McKinney and family, John Marsh and wife, Robert Denbo and wife, D. F. Rowe and wife, Otto Deatrick and wife, Mrs. Eliza Kitterman, Mrs. LizzieDeoW, Mr§: Catharine Marsh,]Mrs. Mahal* Keller, Misses Eva Lasley, Edna Tindall and Edith and Ethel Deatrick, Messrs. Daniel Lasley) Frank Kitterman, Seymour Daytbn, Ira Wiseman, Roy Kitterman and Wilbur Denbo.A good three room cottage, barn, all kinds of fruit and two acres of ground just out side of the corporation of Cory don, for sale.
