A new paper reported asked d he had been succssful.No, said Lee. 1 think they re seared of us Mr. Grady was quoted in the paper the next day, and that afternoon the Little World Series was started.Lima won the first game of the series 4-3.Delpho ■ won the second gameof the series 4-3,Betting was favoring Lima until Mr Grady announced that Bill Stien of the Cleveland Indians would be in the box for Delphos.‘’There wasn’t much betting after they found out we had Bill Stien,” says Mr. Grady.Stien struck out 19 batters, and Delphos won 5 to 1.Other big leaguers who played with Delphos in 1911 lti were Frank Gilhooley of the Yankees, and Erick Clark of Milwaukee. Once the Delphos team played against a touring post-season Cincinnati Beds teamBig leaguers got $40 plus expenses for each game.Mr. Grady remembers when Bill Stien would come into town around suppertime, “everyone would follow him aroundMembers of that earl team who art still living include Mr Grady, Guy Tilton, Harry Jenkins and Hay Wegcsin.Besides the Little World Series, Delphos played teams from Ft.
