Mary Easton, was born in a log nab 111 which, formerly stood upon tho batik, of the creek which runs past the rosidonco of William Shader, and to the left of the present turnpike*. The date oi her birth was November 5, 1802, and aha is there fore a month past 86 year* of age. Mrs. Easton is oue of the oldest residents of this vicinity, and has seen Hamilton grow from a straggling village to a flourishing city.She was tho daughter of Paul and Mary Bunrioll. Her father came from Hew Jersey, first-settling: near where the Shaker Villages in Wan-on County are situated and afterwards removing to the point mentioned at the opening j of this sketch.. Mr. Bunnell had! seen service during the revolutionary j ■war, having entered the service at' the ago of 15 years. He was wounded in the head during one of the battles in which he participated. His wife died when Mrs. Easton was but twelve years of age, and from that time ou her life was spent largely among strangers.The remains of both her father and mother were buried in iho northwest comer of the old graveyard, now the Fourth Ward park, and when the yard was abandoned their remains were not removed and they still repose in that spot.
