CARMEN SCAFUROIn celebration of their 70th wedding anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Carmen Scafuro of Ashtabula were honored at an open reception with family and friends Dec. 2 at their home.Carmen and Hazel (Hoover) were marriedNov. 30, 1942, inFremont.The couple's children are Alice Marthaller of Conneaut; DoloresRiley, Jack and David Scafuro and Linda Petros, all of Ashtabula; and the late Sharon Lacy. The couple also have 13 grandchildrenand 13 great-grandchildren.Prior to his retirementin 1988 Mr. Scafuro wasemployed as a railroad conductor with the NewYork Central Railroad for 43 years. Mrs. Scafuro was a self-employed beauticianfor 25 years.They are lifelong members of St. Joseph Church.
