Lorenzo Ward CGODFREY - Lorenzo L Ward, 83. died at 11:15 pm EThursday, Dec. 7, 1995, at St C Anthony’s Hospital in Alton T after a brief illness AHe worked at I^aclede Steel Co. in Alton for 21 years, retiring slt; in 1973 He was a member of (I Godfrey Baptist Church and Bethalto Masonic Iadge ABorn in Walkerville May 6, C1912. he was a son of the late nJames J. and Elizabeth (Pence) tlt;Ward SHe married the former Laura E Rabe in Walkerville Dec 23. p1933 She survives. uAlso surviving are three f daughters, Elizabeth C. Hopper of Godfrey, Donna Buchanan of pFidelity and Laura L, Lamborn Cof Mountain View. Mo.; three 1sons, Elliott Ward of Mountain CView, Nelson L Ward of Severn, tMd., and Royal C. Ward of God- pfrey; 29 grandchildren; 28 great- rgrandchildren; three sisters, Alice Baze of Alton. Lillian Kir- 1 gan of White Hall and Della Betz i of Jerseyville; and three broth- \ ers. Leonard Ward of Alton and ! Loren and Paul Ward, both of \ Wood River. iHe was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen L, Dykeman; a Ison, Dallas Ward; and a sister, Hilda Coates.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Godfrey Services will be at 10 a m Monday at Godfrey Baptist Church, with the Rev. Edgar Francisco officiating.Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.Memorials may be made to the church.
