ALTON EVENING TELEGRAPHment tics230 AttendChristinas PartymPar JSunsieApproximately 230 persons were present for the annual Christmas party for the nun* of St. Anthony’* Hospital given Monday ev ening in the solarium by St. Anthony's Auxiliary.A reading was given by Mrs. Helen .Tun Marth on the story of a Jewish girl, an American girl, and a Negro girl. The book \va written hv Lillian Nicholson Shearon and told th* story of how each celebrated Christmas in a different way hut still were basically the same.Guests were seined dinner, and decorations included hurricane lamps, a Christmas tree, and flower arrangement*. Christmas carols were played throughout the dinner, and the sisters later sang carols trv German.Marquette High School G’ce Club presented a musical program. accompanied by Mother Carmelite. Miss Molly Davey wav a soloist In plate of a Santa Claus this year, three angels appeared later in the evening singing “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing.” The angels were portrayed by Jane Dixon, Barbara Tueth. and Madeline Davey.Mrs N J Moehn was genera] chairman of the party, and she was assisted by Mrs. Walter Dixon, Mrs. William Newman.
