Deer Hunting: Party Heads for Ft. DavisA group of Austin County hunters left yesterday morning on a deer hunt to West Texas. They will hunt on the Eppen-auer Ranch, within view of McDonald Observatory, about twenty miles from Fort Davis.Last year the group returned with eleven deer for as many hunters. This year some of the group are expecting to bring I back the limit of two deer each.This year’s party includes A.W. Ferris, Winston Woodley, Ennis Nentwig, Edwin Lux, George Stevenson, Gene Beckendorff, Virgil Hill, Judge W. D. Bryan, Sheriff T. A. Maddox, J. D. Sloane and Leon Hackbarth. Mescal Soloman will accompany the group for the first few days of the trip, returning next Monday, The hunting party will return Friday, December 14th.Willard Dawson is chef for the group.
