Last Tuesdav the health officer, I)r. Wright, was called down to inspect a case of suspected smallpox, about 6 miles from here, which eventually proved to be nothing but the effects o'severe frost bites. However, the eases of smallpox in Fort Elliceare near enough, and specialconstables have been sworn, and no half breeds are allowed in thttown under anv consideration-Vaccination is the order of the dav, and contrary to the usual sore heads, arms are perferred.Mr. Cartwright was here cn Tuesday on his way through o Russell from Winnipeg.The rod of Mr. A. Norwavbhen house fell through on \\e -nesdav, and caused considerable*havoc among his thoroughbreds.
