Reimer is principal of the NiverviJle High SchoolBelated congratulations to Mr and Mrs. Roy Penner of Land mark on the birth of their first son a few weeks ago.Explosion Causes FireA gasoline explosion was the cause of a quick fire that destroyed a two tractor shed and damaged a tractor on the A. C. Penner farm Saturday. Several neighbors helped to keep the fire from spreading to nearby build-I ings. They also pulled the tractor from underneath the caved-in i shed roof. The loss was at least partially covered by insurance.Madeline Plett and Corinne Penner have both taken jobs in Winnipeg during the Christmas rush.- Mr. and Mrs. Henry D. Reimer have returned from Henderson. Nebraska. Mrs. Reimer has been there the past month with their children the Pete Klassen3. They were home for a brief visit from their pastorate at Butler, Man.The Landmark Football Club held their annua] banquet Saturday evening, November 29. After all the turkey the boys and their dates could manage, balloting took place for a new president, vice-president, and captain with president Elmer Plett as chairman. Results were Johnny Hildebrand, pres., Dan Loewen, vice-pres., and Leslie Penner, captain, The members of the club also gave a vote of confidence to coach Wilmer Penner: The evening was concluded by the showing of the film Captains Courageous”.season.Marko Koshelanyk has purchased a Philco TV set from John Horobec. They enjoy it very much these cold wintry days.The annual church meeting at Caliento was not held on November 30 on account of cold weather and snow drifted road 3. The trailer was sitting on the Woroniuk lot at the time. A bulldozer managed to pull away quite a number of machines out of the danger. An overheated gas stove is believed to have raused the fire.The Pete Olynyks have installed a new TV set at their home. At the Lloyd Foy's place. Mrs. Foy has a new clothes dryer. We are glad to report that they both are improving and Walter expects to be home soon.The Landmark School plans on a film night and pie social for Monday, Dec. 1. The feature film is an interesting dramatization of the well-known book Captains Courageous.
