Amel and Lorna Kostynyk celebrate 25th anniversaryOn Saturday, September 29, 1984, at the Lac du Bonnet Curling Club, about 120 friends, family and well wishers gathered to celebrate the 25th silver wedding anniversary of Amel and Lorna Kostynyk. They were married on October 3, 1959, at the Notre Dame du Lac Catholic Church in Lac du Bonnet, with the reception following at Holiday Beach, at that time owned by Lorna’s parents Frank and MaryPicknicki.Master of ceremonies for the evening was Val Lyons, sister of the bride, and things got underway at 7:30 p.m. with an introduction of the wedding party. Attending the groom were best man Wilf Picknicki, and ushers Gilbert Hrysio and EarlChristoff. Missing were usher Mike Kereliuk of Winnipeg and ring-bearer Jeffrey Bryant of Winnipeg. Attending the bride were maid-of-honor Liz GroinusChongra, bridesmaids Diane Morski Picknicki and Gale Osis Apsit, and flower-girl Elaine Kostynyk Werbeniuk.
