He called no witnesses and did not make an argument before the court.The motion claimed the case has received more publicity than any in the past quarter of a century, and alsothat there was an atmosphere of animosity toward the defendant.Coryell County District Attorney David Castillo presented affidavits to refute the defendant’s claims and also called The Gatesville Messenger assistant publisher/news editor LarryKennedy to the stand to testify about the amount of coverage given to the case.In denying the motion, 52nd Judicial District Judge Phillip Zeigler said testimony did not demonstrate animosity toward the defendant, but indicated he would reconsider if there was any difficulty in seating a jury.Lewis-Grant is charged with capital murder in the Sept. 15,2007, death of her ex-husband, James MichaelPlease see DENIED, P. 16
