Counts was born Novem-er 27th 1870, Cora Newman Counts was born November 30th, 1871. They vere united in marriage November 20th, 1892 by Rev. Fletcher Lee at is home near Grahn, Ky. Mrs. Counts is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Newman of Pleasant Valley and was a successful rural teacher of Carter County..Mr.. Counts is a prominent farmer of Carter County. The have been de-vout members cf the Methodist church for many years and have been residents of Carter County their entire life, and both took an active part in the business, social and religious life of the community in which they lived. .To this union six children were born, five of whom are living. RoyCounts of Portsmouth, Ohio, Estill in U. S. Army, stationed in Arizona, Mrs. C. A. Hillman and Mrs. E. L.Burton of Dayton, Ohio and James Counts at home. The eldest daughter,Mrs. Cena Gee died at Portsmouth, Ohio in 1940.Their oldest son, Roy served in World War I.. James the only son left has received his call to the colorsand will leave soon.
