A-14 THE FREDERICK POST, FREDERICK, MD., TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 1936Author to help honorFrom The Montgomery BureauMontgomery students awarded for writingROCKVILLE — Author Anne Lindbergh will be the featured speaker at the 1988 Superintendent’s Writing Awards Program Wednesday night when nearly 300 Montgomery County public school students will be recognized for outstanding writing.The ceremony for students in grades kindergarten through 12 will begin at 7:15 p.m. at Walter Johnson High School, 6400 Rock Spring Drive, Bethesda.Superintendent Wilmer Cody will present certificates and Ms. Lindbergh, author of eight books for young readers, wiU share her personal experiences as a writer and discuss her craft.Students from throughout the county are being honored for writing fables, poems, short stories, journal entries, computer programs, biographies of historical characters and compositions in foreign languages.Among those receiving foreign language writing awards are Frank Emerson of Gaithersburg Junior High and Heather Jones of Damascus High.Senior High writing award winners include Tracey Perez and Katherine Richardson of Gaithersburg and LaurenThomas, Paige Zielinski and Patrick Zigelberger, of Seneca Valley.Among the high school juniors receiving awards are Vanessa Bittner of Gaithersburg, Daniel Hoppes of Seneca Valley, Michael James of the Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents (RICA), and Stefanie Ulrey of Damascus.Tenth grade honorees include Chang Kiki Li and Donald Mowbray of Magruder, Michele Pena of Seneca Valley and Heidi Splete of Damascus.Ninth grade award winners include James Bickham and Ray Brown of Martin Luther King Junior High, Jennifer Chou of Ridge view JuniorHigh, Jyotika Grewal of Gaithersburg, Kathryn Haines and Shan a Lipton of Montgomery Village Junior high and Michelle Mitchell of Sherwood Senior High.Eighth graders Heather -Borsum of Redland, Roger Rosen of Ridge view and Den via Laigel and Gregory Singer of Montgomery Village Junior High also will be honored.Seventh grade honorees are Gaithersburg’s Jessica Durkin and Mariana York, Baker’s Megan Fisel, RICA’s David Hallquxst, Ridgeview's James Hung, and Redland’s Youna Kwak,Kindergarten award-winning studentsinclude Elizabeth Burrows and Alicia Seilitti of Whetstone, Sarah Fakhori of Laytonsville, Robyn Fenster of Travilah, Lisa Johnson of Wyngate, David Malitz of * Lakewood, David Mayer-Sommer of Wayside, Jenny Nowak and Sean Sloan of Gaithersburg, Kevin Rechen of Candlewood, and Gavin St. Ours of Clarksburg.First-graders being honored include Thomas Havas of Olney, Jennifer McCathran of Darnestown, Erin McMullen of Mill Creek Towne, Lodema M’Poko of South Lake, Jessica Perimeter of Monocacy, Cassie Runyon of Summit Hall, and Abigail,Thompson of Washington Grove.The second-graders include Michael Gartrell of Stedwick, James Levine and Jennifer Perley of Whetstone, Angela Lynch of Woodfield, Deanna Shumaker of Poolesville, and Allison Treby of Travilah.Third grade honorees include Jeana Arthur of Whetstone, Dina Cheney of Wayside, Brett David of Lakewood, Lisa DeProspo of Stedwick, Ben Holt of DuFief, Hien Le of Gaithersburg, and Laurie Metzger of Germantown.The fourth-graders include Eric Bricker of Wayside, Tina Chow of Rosemont, Amanda Goebel of DuFief, Derek Johnson of Clarksburg, and Quynh Nhu Pham of Diamond.The fifth grade recipients include Adrienne Babb of Cedar Grove, Benjamin Cushing and Philip Hager of Damascus, Dayna Hoffman of Whetstone, Matthew Kelly of Lake Seneca, Darwin Olympia of DuFief, Ethan Segal of Lakewood, Tara Smith of W’oodfield, and Matt Wolff of Darnestown.The sixth-graders include Gypsy amber Berg-Cross of Lakewood, Genevieve Demos of Fox Chapel, Jennifer Garlieh of RICA, Danielle Hestand of Summit Hall, Michael King' and Laura Rosenberg of South Lake, Heather Miller of Woodfield, Jennifer Pierce of Redland, and Nicholas Prahl of Brown Station.Cruise in to any Frederick Area First National Bank of Maryland Office November 15 through December 20,1986.First National Bank of Maryland’s newest Frederick County full-service office is now open in the Frederick Towne Mall on Route 40 West.
