MEDEYA CIRCUIT, OHIO CONFERENCE.Dear Brethren:—While writing 011 business,permit me to give you some information relativeto this part of the Lord's vineyard. When we came to our held of labor, we found many things to discourage us. The mind-debasing and soul-destroying influence of iulidelity is seen and feltthrough many parts of this circuit. We are surrounded with those who fear not God, nor regard man. And what is worse than all, many who profess religion, seek for pleasure in the sinful amusements of the world. Holiness of heart is too seldom mentioned, and sought by few. I think better days are coming. There appears to be a waking up in the church. Since our tirst quarterly meeting, some have experienced that “religion is a glorious treasure,” and have learned that God has power on earth to forgive sins.I am happy to say, that in this place, over which the cloud of infidelity has long stood, the prospect is flattering. Several have obtained the u]earl of great price,” united with the church of God, and are now on the way to heaven. Our congregations are large, and the people appear to listen to the preaching of the Word vvith\ attention and interest. 1 hope we may soon to inform you, that the power of God has been displayed in the conversion of many souls onA * • ^Medina circuit.
