Avery agreeable surprise was today given in honor of Grandma Jones, widow of Charles A. Jones, of Noble township, it being her sixty-seventh birthday. The managers of the scheme were grandma’s daughters, six in number,'and one son, who all have large families. The number of her children and grandchildren present amounted to sixty-two. The best of feelings prevailed throughout the entire day. The fine dinner consist* ed of almost everything conceivable and all partook in a manner that did ample justice to the occasion. After dinner all retired to the parlor, where sweet music was rendered by Mr. Nelson Goodwin’s string band and Miss Nellie Herndon, an organist Everybody enjoyed the day finely and even the dogs seemed to relish the abund~ ance of crumbs that fell from the rich table. Your humble correspondent was present, it being also his sixty-second -birthday, who gave particular notice that the poor printer should be remembered on all these occasions, especially onThanksgiving day. Especial mention should be made that the success of this happy event was due through the benevolence and untiring efforts of Charles Used and his estimable and popular lady, at whose house the happy event was held.Dawkins.
