He resembles a medium-sized rabbit but has a tail more like a squirrel. The chinchilla was native to South America but is now all but extinct as a wild animal.Bedford County figures to get a good toehold in the business since Mr and Mrs. John A; Dollar of Friends Cove have been certified as state chinchilla ranch inspectors for Penn -sylvania by the Chinchilla Guild of America.It means the Dollars _ _ will j make at least three visits a year to the 75 chinchilla ran -ches in the state that operate through the Guild.The advantage q£ the Guild is that it guarantees a market for the pelts that are worth $20 to $50 apiece.
