Presentation was to Bruce Brewer, superintendent of the game farm and to Dale Litzenberger, manager of the McNary Wildlife Recreation Area at Burbank.Presentations were by Jack E. Kirdendall, supervisor of Region 3.Brewer began his Game Department career as assistant superintendent of the Centralia game farm in 1951. He had been in the construction field prior to that.From Centralia, Brewer was transferred to the Department’s Tacoma fish hatchery where he remained for two years before returning to the Centralia game farm where he was to be until 1958 when he was transferred to the game farm on Whidbey Island. Brewer was there fortwo years, then came to Walla Wslla as superintendent in December, 1960.Born in Elma, Wash., he attended schools there. He is married and father of three children. He lists bowling, fishing and hunting as his prime hobbies.Litzenberger began in 1950 as a temporary summer employe in the habitat development crew at Richland, then was named to the same detail in 1951 on a permanent basis following graduation from Oregon State University. In September he went to Moses Lake as a game protector. In March, 1953 he came to the McNary Game Range (as it was then known) as its manager. The area has some 8,000 acres of land and water located on the Yakima, Walla Walla and Columbia Rivers. It is popular for fishing as well as waterfowl and upland game bird hunting.Litzenberger is married and father of one son, a senior at Columbia High in Burbank. Hobbies include hunting, fishing and bee-keeping. He is captain of Station 1 of Fire District 5 and secretary of the district, made up of volunteers.Litzenberger was born at Deer Park, Wash, where he attended schools. He attended Eastern Washington State College prior to graduating from OSU.
