Mr. And Mrs. J. L. Westover Celebrate Qolden Wedding At Joseph City Home Saturdaymm, Family and friends of Mr. and .at 8:00 p.m. and a dance later in* * iMrs. John L. Westover of Joseph | the evening. Some 300 friends,:rrom many Arizona communities, also were in attendance to offerCity, met Saturday at the- family home there to celebrate the 50thwedding anniversary of this well known couple.Their ten living children, with their families, attended the festivities, which consisted of open house during the afternoon and early evening, a formal programi ongratulations to the Westovers ?n their fifty years of married life.Mr. and ‘ Mrs. Westover both were born at Joseph City and have lived in the same house they built shortly after theirmarriage in 1902. Mr. Westover 'served. as bishop of the L.D.S. Church in Joseph City for many years, and continues to serve asstake high councilman for that organization. He also served Navajo County in the state legislature for two terms. IMrs. Westover, long in service of the women’s Relief Society of her church, is known as a skilled genealogist and spends much time in searching out family records.The program Saturday evening, following the open house at the family home, was held at the school auditorium, and consisted primarily of pageant scenes depicting ihiportant events in the married, life of the Westovers. Wallace L. Westover, formerly of Winslow, was in charge of the program, in which members of the family took part.The final event in the reunion and Golden Wedding celebration was a large family dinner at the home of Russell Westover on Sunday.Children and. their families,numbering 55, who were in attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. Earl Westover, . Mr. and Mrs. Russell Westover, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Duncan of. Joseph City; Mr. and Mrs. Victor E. Westover of Holbrook; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Carroll of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. E. Gus Palmer of Flagstaff; Mr. and Mrs. Ross West-over of Pima. Mr. and Mrs. Donald' E. Westover of Yuma;;9 IMiss Velma Westover of Phoenix; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace L. West-over of Los Angeles.
