Connor, a former Lexington man:)Lexington, Aug. 25. — Among many who brought congratulations Sunday to elders of the Brown Settlement, staging a homecoming with the younger generation, was District Judge John H. Tate of Giddings, who 50 years ago tried cases with Federal Judge T. M. Kennerly of Houston, when the latter was a youthful Lee County lawyer.In the first murder case in which they were associated, the late J. J. Brown of Brown Settlement was a juror.
