Any:. 27—Mrs. Betty Fletcher, the first white woman to live in this section, was surprised here yesterda.v on her 83d birthday anniversary by the members of the Women's Missionary Society and a group of friends. Fruit punch, ice cream and cake were served. A candle-] itjhted cake was presented to her by Mrs. William Plowman. Mrs. Flnlcher came with her family into Lhc Ryderwood area 59 years ago. Experiencing I he usual hardships of the pioneer, she made nine trips to her old home in Missouri, the last'trip about two years ago. Mrs. FU’tchci* is 'enjoying good health at- present.Mrs. A. N.
