Burlington Hawkeye: It may surprise readers of the Hawkeye to learn that Indians are invading some of the farming regions i n this state. They are the Muskwaki tribe, of the Indian reservation near Toledo, la. | They have farms of their own and are sending out Indian workmen for labor on farms, or in the nearby towns. This thoroughly disposes of the saying that β€œthe only good Indian is the dead Indian.” Almost any Iowa town can furnish a few shiftless white men who could pattern after the industry and thrift of the Muskwakis with advantage to themselves and to society.
