ILong FamilyHolds 55thMeet At ParkThe 55th reunion of the family of the late John Nelson Long was held recently at Constitution Park, with 85 people attending the buffet dinner. Gene Long presided and a memorial service was held for Donald Watson and Wendell long. Rita Watson read. “Trees.Officers were reelected for the next reunion, including Gene Long, Rita Watson, vice president and Mary Long, secretary-treasurer. The 1984 reunion will be held at the Knights of Columbus picnic grounds on Christie Road. The name of the reunion will be changed to the late James Harrison Long family reunion to commemorate the initial site of the reunion in August 1928. held on the farm of James HarrisonLong, grandson of John Nelson Long. One new baby arrived since the last get-together, Jodi Lynn Snyder, daughter of Mr and Mrs. CarlSnyder and granddaughter of the late Herman H Long Sr.Susie Long was in charge of games for children. Gifts werepresented to each child and horseshoes and darts were played during the afternoon. Other gifts were presented to Edith Lechiter, oldest woman; Ralph Long, oldest man; MichaeldiWarren Norris, youngest child; Mr. and Mrs. Rickey Luzier, Morgantown, W.Va., youngest married couple, two-weeks, and Mr. and Mrs. George Logsdon, oldest married couple, 59 years; Mr. and Mrs. KevinMills and son, San Diego, Calif., traveling greatest distance. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Long traveled from Augusta, Ga., to attend. Largest families were those ofRalph Long and George Logsdon.
