ur-i Bull-Skinner Reunion HeldThe Bull-Skinner family reunion was held Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Liberty school cafeteria. Hosts for the occasion were Air. aiul Mrs. Byron Huge and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Etcheson.A bounteous basket dinner was served at noon. Immediately fed- j lowing the dinner, the business I meeting wa^ called to order by the president, Wayne Hull. Robert I Esserman and Robert Etcheson | gave secretary and treasurer re*: ports.It was voted that each family , contribute $1 towards expenses of the reunion.Prizes were award eel to John Bull, who came the greatest distance, National City, Calif. Terry Esserman received a prize fui having a birthday nearest the day of the reunion; Air. and Mrs. Frank Brown received a prize for being married the longest numbers of years, FI paid to have big feet for Ronnie Esser-man. He was recipient of a prize for the man’s largest shoe size, and Margaret Esserman for the ladies.Births reported were a boy to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thompson; a boy to Mr. and Mrs. Jnhu Waters; a boy to Mr. and Mrs. James R Bull; a boy to Air. and Mrs. Norman Hubbard; and a boy to Mr.. and Mrs. Melvin elites, Jr.Marriages reported were Miss Sally Joe Ruge, daughter of Air. and Mrs. William C. Huge, R. 7, Valparaiso, to Jack II, Gleason of South Bend on Aug. 18.Deaths reported was Ralph Len-burg on June 2.Officers elected for 19G3 were Waller Esserman, president; Byron Huge, vice president; Grace elites and Lois Nichols, secretaries; Wallace Wohlenbcrg, treasurer. Jean Lorenzcu and Louise Spier were appointed to the entertainment committee.The Robert and Waller Esser-man families will he the reunion hosts next year, to be held at I he same place as this year, on the third Sunday in August.Helen Bull and Pat Curtis were in charge of a talent contest given by the younger gcneralian. Taking part were: Norman Ruge,; John Stanley, Terry Esserman and Ruth Stanley. Group singing was enjoyed wlih Laura Goetz at the piano. Last but not least two small girls gave their version of the twist.A history of the Bull family was very ably given by Bertha Stalbaum, taking the group hank to the lime Ibe first ancestors from England came 1o settle ;i colony on the cast coast, on down to the time the first Bull family came to Indiana from Now York state by Hat boat and covered wagon to purchase land in what is now Liberty township.Relatives coming from the greatest distance were: John Bull, National City, Calif.; William Hubbard, San DiegoP Calif.; Airs. Elma Bloomberg and sons, Largo, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Lenburg, son Jim and daughter .Mary of Indianapolis; Mr. and Mrs. John Wuhlenberg of Chicago; Air. and Mrs. Andreas Lorenzcu and family or Dolton. III. Others were presold from* Wanatah, Boone Grove, Crown Point, Chesterton and Valparaiso.Before leaving all were served ice cream and cake.
