Last March Mrs. Jane KskcL, an aged Early -(own woaian and her little four-year-old grand daughter, ifary Evelyn Ciregg, sat down on a siding just above the cars to rest, the woman unconscious of her danger contentedly smoking her old clay pipe when a cut of cars was backed into a box car behind which .they were and so badly mutilated them that the child died the same day, while the ennui mother succumbed to her wounds about a week-later.. Engineer John . II. Davisson, of Iso. 1729 Robinson avenue, was in charge of_ the engine, and Yard master W. P. Newkirk in charge of the train. Newkirk made heroic efforts to rescue the child. .
