TIN GOLDEN DAYSMr. and Mrs. Amling and Family Observe Fiftieth Anniversary of Wedding in Baronial StyleIt was fifty years ago Friday, August 14, that Gottfried Christian Amling anti Christiana Lauretta Guenther were married, and in all that time i they have never enioyed a more pleasant occasion than they . experienced that afternoon ard evening when their children, grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren gathered around tb/ family hearth for a grand celebration of the parents’’ golden wedding anniversary.There were over ninety relatives present to participate in the celebration wheeli began Friday afternoon at St. John* Lutheran church. At 3:45 the venerable couple escorted by proud kinsmen were taken to the church in automobiles from the homestead at 36 North Elgin street, Forest Park. Rev. M. E. Wagner and Rev. Herman Amling, headed the procession to the church, followed by the grandchildren, from the youngest to the oldest and the little greatgrandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Amling came next in state and then their children with their wives and husbands.At the church, several hymns were sung and the Rev, Herman Amling, one of the sons, who is pastor of a Lutheran church in Berlin, Germany, delivered a sermon, his text being found in John 1: 4^19.‘ The sermon was spoken in German, and the subject was “Our Joy and What it Should Mean to Us.” Rev. M. E. Wagner, pastor of the church also spoke, telling of the great good Mr. Amling has done for the church during his many years of membership and as a church elder. Charles Mueller of Oak Park, chairman of the church board, congratulated the couple on so many years of happy married life in behalf of the congregation.After the program at the church all returned to the house .where an elaborate dinner was served at 6 o'clock, in a great tent, pitched on the lawn. Nearly a hundred friends and relatives were seated at the table. The grounds wexe brilliantly lighted with colored electric bulbs and Japan-est lanterns, and the interior of the tent was decorated with asparagus ferns and roses.Among thj* guests present at the reception were:Mr. and Mrs. William Hasse John Reinke of Elmhurst Mr. and Mrs. H.
