Drowned In the Miami.Albert Elkins, ann of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Elkina, of Franklin street, was drowned in the Miami river this morning at 11 o'clock. At the time a number of lads were in swimming at the *lBIg Syeamoro,” Young Elkins, who was only teii years bid, jumped from a log ; into water over his head, exclaiming that he was not afraid. He could not swim and was soon lost sight of, although Frank Wellinghoff awam to his rescue and managed to grab him by the hair and hold him up a moment. A death grasp from the drowning lad caused him to relax his hold. An outcry was made! by the boys, and the bands at the brick yard rushed to the rescue. After some delay Jacob Stillwaugh, jr., rescued the body. Dr. A. J. Campbell did all in his power to resucitate the boy, but was unable to do so.Coroner Talbott was notified, viewed the body and later took the remains to the home of hie parents on Franklin street, First ward.
