By MRS. MARIE MERCER of Pleasant City. PLEASANT CITY — Twenty school teachers, all of Pleasant City, will be teaching in nine different schools this fall. The teachers include: Edith Danford, Irene Mailet, Joann Stevens, John Hively, Charles Chippi, Lucy Young, Gary of Caldwell; and Pete Panchak Brown and Robert Douglas, all and Betty Wilson, both at Beau Dust, Norton; John Se crest, Highland schools; Juanita Drake, Buffalo; Ellen Hannon, Orville Winland and James Se crest, all at Zanesville schools. Lizazelle Huff, Cambridge; Edna Bond, Eyesville; Homer Larrick and Betty Larrick, both Meadowbrook High School, Mrs. Isa Hannahs, Columbus, was a guest of the Women’s So ciety of Christian Service of the Pleasant City United Methodist Church, when it met last week. Hostess for the evening was Mrs. Lois Gress. Mrs. Inez Oliver, president, had charge of the business ses sion and devotions were led by Mrs. Jewel Patton. Miss Beryl Fishel presented the lesson. News Briefs Mrs. Lydia Wise, Pleasant City R. D. 2, will undergo hip surgery Sept. 8 in Akron City Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Spurrier have returned to their home in Columbus after spending last weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Spurrier. Blanche Moore has returned home after visiting in Canton at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Shondrik. Word has been received here of the illness of Ernest Kackley, a former Pleasant City resident. Mr. Kackley is a patient in Massillon City Hospital. David Swetz, 15, son of Mrs. Olive Swetz, underwent heart surgery Monday in Children’s Hospital, Columbus. He is listed in satisactory condition. Mrs. Jerry Gress and son, Tipp City, are spending a few days here at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Morland. She also visited Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gress. Mr. and Mrs. John Sekel recently sold their home in Pleasant City to Mr. and Mrs. George Yakubisin. Leslie Hannon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hannon Jr., will leave this week for the Great Lakes, where he will enter the U. S. Navy. Recent visitors of Mrs. Hulda Gander were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hawthorne, Cambridge, and her daughter, Mrs. Francis Culbertson, Michigan City, Ind. Mrs. Gander is celebrating her 83rd birthday today (Thursday). Jill Stewart, Caldwell, is visit ing Mr. and Mrs. James Hively. Miss Christine Holcomb, Cam bridge, has been visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Bertie Gould. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Crutch field have recently moved into the local Methodist parsonage.
