(Last year we enrolled 577 students in the high school, an 18 per cent increase over the previous year. The average attendance for I last term was 92.40, an increase of2.56 over last term’s attendance average.There were over 55 students who finished their high school coursesthis last term and nearly 30 per cent of them have made application for college entrance and have been acepted. Most of the remaining seniors have secured jobs and are reflecting credit upon themselves and the school.Winners At MeetThe Cobb Avenue High School students participated in varied types of activities of the district and state. The seniors who participated in the State Academic i Meet from this high school were | part of over 800 students there. The tests involved included, English, mathematics, science, home econonomics, music, and history. The students of Cobb Avenue took all of the highest honors in district three, and four of the seniors ranked with the upper ten per cent involving the entire state totals. It is the purposes of the school to create learning situations, such that the children of ' this community may be able to meet competition in any field theymay enter.There will not be any slackening in the program this term There w'as an all-time high reach-ed last year in school-community cooperation with organizations.The labor organizations with thecooperation of Mr. Hamilton, president of the Alabama Pipe Company, made available over $4,000in the improvement of the expanding instructional program of the school.
