FAIR BOARD HOLDS MEETBtGFinal Meeting of Members of Allen County Fair Board Held at Township House in Delphos —Free Acts and Hides and Shows Booked for 1948 Fair— Balloon Ascension Scheduled for Each Evening,Final plans were made for holding the 1948 Allen County (Delphos) Fair at the regular meeting of the Fair board at thQ township house on South Main street.It was definitely announced that the Balloon Ascension again will be a feature attraction of the fair with the Flying Allens providing the thrills. This act will take place on Canal street at 6:00 each evening during the fair. The free acts have been secured and according to all reportsGREAT NEWS FOR PEACH CANNERS!FREE! And it’s auri -proved by thousands of women.All you do is make a simp!* fhange in your canning and f rees—the first act of the day will take place on Maih street, north of First street, Walter Ward Equilibrist will perform on the platform at 1:00 o'clock and again at i in the evening.The second act will also be held on South Main street with Clayton and Philips Hand Balancing and acrobatics at 2:30 and again at 9:00.These two acts may be alternated aeccordbng to an announcement made by a fair representative.Another fin© act is scheduled for North Main at Fifth street with Lady Barbaroosa and her Animal Act. This act will take place at 5:00 o’clock and again at 11:00 ociock in the evening.Accoiding to the secretary of the fair, practically all the concession space on the mid-way has been sold and many applicants have been turned away because of lack of space. The question of the opening of Fifth street has caused 3ome space to be held up. Definite word has not been received as to the opening of the street and the routing of traffic during the fair.The members of the fair board have agreed to help defray the expense of spraying the city with DDT. It has also been planned to spray the cattle tents during the fair. This spraying is in cooperation with the city in the prevtntion of diseases during and after the fair.Gooding Amusement company will bring one of his'units to this city and will provide the shows and rides during the 1948.fair. The correct amount of rides and shows that Mr. Gooding is planning to bring to Delphos is not known as yet. Although he is planning to bring some new equipment to the city.
