Nannie Mabei WittigFULKS RUN — Nannie Mabel Wittig, 78, of Fulks Run died Friday morning at Rockingham Memorial . Hospital.Mrs. Wittig was born July 27,1910, at Cootes Store and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Sarah Elizabeth Bare Zirkle.She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church and the church’s Helping Hands Society.Her husband, Russel B. Wittig Sr., died March 13,1984.Surviving are two sons, R.B. Wittig Jr. of Wagram, N.C., and Walt Wittig of St. Louis; a daughter, Deb-by Sims of Sylva, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.A funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday at Riverside United Methodist Church by Rev. Wilton B. Thomas. Burial will be in the Whitmer Family Cemetery in Fulks Run.- The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Riverside United Methodist Church.
