CherrySt.The actual date of the founding of the first Catholic church in Orange will be celebrated with a Festival of Hymns chosen by parishioners and dedicated to the pioneer Catholics of Orange at 5 p m. Friday At 5:30 p.m., the Rev. William Manger, pastor of St. Mary's Church, will be the principal celebrant of a special high mass, recited in Latin and dedicated in honor of the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Concelebrating with him will be the Rev. Angelo Bertini, a former student at St. Mary’s School, and the Rev. John Ulm of Texas City, a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Orange The Rev. Bertini will preach the homily.A reception for Orange parishioners and all men and women in the religious life who formerly attend ed St. Mary's School will follow in the convent at 912 Cherry.At 12:30 p.m Sunday there will be a covered-dish luncheon for invited guests and parishioners of St Mary’s and St. Francis parishes.At 5 p.m. Sunday, Bishop Canter will be the principal celebrant for a Mass of Thanksgiving in St Mary’s Church
