Broadway, Blue Island,celebrated their golden weddinganniversary on Saturday. Aug 15. 1942. The celebration was held at the Eagles Hall. Dinner was served at 6 p.m., for the immediate family, closest relatives and the Rev. and Mrs. Feme. A reception was held for friends and other relatives at 8 p.m., with dancing and 12 o’clock buffet supper.At 10 o’clock six daughters and their husbands had a mock wedding which was enjoyed by all. Many beautiful gifts were received and an enjoyable time was had by all present.Mr. and Mrs. Klopp were the parents of 12 children, seven daughters and two sons helped them celebrate. A son and daughter died in infancy and a son, Pvt. Herman C. Klopp, was killed in action in World War I. They have 23 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Their oldest grandson Pvt. Elmer Klopp, who is stationed in Boston, Mass., was also present.There were about 300 friends and relatives present. Mrs. Klopp had an unfortunate accident one hour before they left for the hall. She fell and sprained an ankle and then on Monday she again fell and broke a wrist. She is now recuperating at the home of one of her daughters, Mrs. Harold Arvesen of Desplaines at. Mrs. Klopp is 68 years old and Mr. Klopp is 74 years old.AT ANNUAL CONVENTIONThe Palmer Chiropractic Office located at 13037 Western ave., will be closed from Aug, 24 to 28.Dr. Palmer will attend the annual convention at the Palmer School of Chiropractic, Davenport, la.
