WELCH, Aug. 17.—(AP)—Mrs.Avery Roark, 42, of near Wilcoe, eliecl in a Welch hospital toda of injuries received about an hourbefore when she was struck b\■ wdr' ’an automobile driven by H. 11. Powell, a McDowell county deputy sheriff. Powell posted bona for a preliminatry hearing on acharge of manslaughter. Witnesses told officers Mrs. Roark stepped in front of Powell’s car.
