The day was all that could be desired, | or hoped for, so far us weather conditions were concerned, and it was an j occasion in the life of Father and » Mother Kelly that will be long remem*! bered and happily cherished, as the shadows of Life’s evening gather around and about their pathway.There were eighty guests present on the occasion, to do theru honor, and to extend hearty congratulationN and express the hope and wish that the future years allotted to them rna be years of continued happiness, peace and prosperity.In addition to the elegant dinner at the noon hour, refreshments were also served to the many friends and neighbors who called during the afternoon Members of Meade Post, No. T0, G. A. K., of which Uncle John Kelly is a member, were in attendance in a body, and dropped a bright, shining gold coin into the hand of their Comrade, as a slight tokeo of their esteem and good wishes. The Ladies' Aid Society of the First M. E. Church also called, in a body, and likewise remembered Mother Kelley with a gold coin. Kindly remembrances from relatives and other friends were numerous, beautiful and useful.John C. Kelley was born in Hunt ington county, Pennsylvania, in 1*44, and came to Scott county, Iowa, in 1*49. Mary Eliza eth Daughenbaugh was born in Blair county. Pennsylvania, August 8th., 1822, and came to Scott county, Iowa, in L8.A4. They were united in marriage in Scott Co , Iowa, August 8th., 1872, and cams to lt;ass counto injls78. Ihiy are tie parents of six children; three sons : and three daughters; Oscar A. Kelley, of Davenport, Iowa; Mr*. Myrtle Nelson, of Wiota; Hayes Kelley, who • passed away a nujnler of years ago; j Mrs. Minne Brunson, of Anita; Logan Kelley, of Fort Dodge, Iowa; j and Mrs. Verna White, whose home is in Missouri.
