Golden Wedding.—The golden-wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Elisha Martin was celebrated last Sab-bath. The day was a beautiful one and at an early hour their friends began to gather in, and kept coming until nearly 600 were there to greet the venerable couple. The beautiful grove on Mr. M's. farm had been selected and a more fitting place could not havebeen found for the occasion. Mr.»M\ had killed a beef, prepared 100 loaves of bread and other things in proportion, and this with the articles brought in by friends made provision for a feast, with many baskets of fragments left.,After dinner Mr.and Mrs.M.were seated in a handsome phaeton to receive the congratulations of those present, when Gen. Stone in a neat and well worded speech presented them the phaeton in behalf of himself, Thomas Ward, Dennis and Ez. Kelley, John K. and W. A. Martin and Wm. Ruble. Mrs. CoL Hill and family presented a handsome gold tea set. T. W. Kizer presented the bride with a gold coin. They also received many other valuable presents from thmr children and friends, a list we were unable to jjrocure,The after boon was spent in cial enjoyment -and all left hoping that the happy pair would live to celebrate their diamond wedding.
