EsclEsches honor 60th, family’s immigrationJohn and Dorothy Esch will observe their 60th wedding anniversary today.The former Dorothy Gohring and John Esch were married Aug. 16, 1932, in Phoenix, Ariz.John continues to be a practicing Madison attorney and has been for more than 60 years.As a prelude to their anniversary, the first “Johan Gerhard Esch family reunion” took place June 27 and 28 to celebrate the emigration from Schale, Germany, and settlement 150 years ago of their ancestors in Oak Creek. The celebration brought together almost 100 family members from the five branches. John Esch, at 89, is the oldest living descendent of this family.Among those attending the reunion were the couple’s four children: Susanne Fountain, Ridgecrest, Calif.; Katherine Corson, Niwot, Colo.; Patricia, Madison; and John, Burnsville, Minn. They have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
