50 years markedMr. and Mrs. George Fish of 28 Ogden St., Glens Falls, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise reception at their home.The affair was hosted by their children, Ann Kraus of Mobile, Ala., Betsy Baker of Dallas, Texas, Nancy Doster of Glens Falls and Mary Perkett of Queensbury. Their son, George A. Fish of St. Louis, Mo., was not able to attend.Refreshments, including champagne punch and a three-tier cake made by Mrs. Siegfried Brueder, were served to more than 50 guests. There was a floral centerpiece and fresh garden flowers throughout the house.Their children presented them with a colored TV.The couple was married Sept. 4, 1932, in the Hudson Falls Methodist Church by the Rev. Thompson. Mrs. Fish, the former Helen Combs, was born April 17, 1904. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alva Combs of Stony Creek. Her husband, a native of Glens Falls, was born Aug. 20, 1905. He is retired from Hercules, Inc. and she is a retired 2nd grade teacher in the Glens Falls School District.Mr. and Mrs. Fish also have 11 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
