Surviving Members of the 33d Regi mental Association Meet at Nantas ket—New Board of Officers Elected. Nantaseket Breach, Aug. 15,—The annual reunion and dinner of the surviving mem bers of the old 83d Regimental Association, M. V. M., and their friends were held at the Pacific House at this place today, the occa sion being the 30th anniversary of the de parture of the regiment for the seat of war, Aug. 15, 1862. The party which assembled was not so large in numbers as is usual with this asso ciation, a fact largely due to the constantly decreasing membership through the re moval of the comrades by death, but those present today fully made up in enthusiasm yastevat they may have lacked in nam rs. ‘The party arrived at the hotel shortly be fore noon, after a delightful sail down the harbor on the steamboat, and spent the first hour or more in renewing old and forming new acquaintances. Atore they assembled in front of the hotel and had their pictures taken away, after which the memo of the association assembled in the hotel parlor, where the annual business meeting was called to or der by the president, Comrade Samuel Can ning. The first business, the reading and ap proval of the records of the secretary and treasurer, was quickly disposed of, and then the president appointed the following com rades as a committee to retire and prepare a list of nominations for officers for the fol lowing year, viz. : Company A, Charles MH, Kimball; Company B, Charles Bennett; Company C, Henry Entwistle; Company 1, George Mannffield; Company B, I. B. Hart; Company F, Gi. B. Sewall; Company G, A. V. Hovey; Company H, Thomas Drohan; Company I, John , Sanborn; Company K, John Barrows. While the committee was out it was noted that photographs of the regiment's monu ment on the field of Gettysburg be procured for those members of the association who might desire them, ‘the nominating committee reported the following list of nominations, which was unanimously accepted and the persons named elected to the respective attices, viz. : President, William J. Hargraves; vicee pres ident, Charles F Bryant; secretary and mesures, A. A. Stacy, otes of thanks to the retiring president and to Secretary Stacy closed the business of the meeting, after which the company repaired to the dining room and partook of the annual banquet, after which there were interesting addresses by the retiring presi dent, the president-elect, and by Comrades Richardson, Hazzard, Stacy, Smith, Sewall, Glover, Barrows, Bryant and Peabody. After the speechmaking was over the company spent the remainder of the day in various amusements, and returned to the city by the 6 o'clock boat, after one of the most successful and pleasant reunions of their lives. Drowned While Fishing, Brunswick, Me, Aug. 15.—Luger Con chong, aged 9 years, fell into the river and was drowned yesterday, while fishing from the rocks. His body has not been re covered.
